Speaking to teachers or parents about becoming writers, or
motivating them to motivate their kids and students to be
writers (books and/or music), is what drives me, but the
added bonus will always be signing books for the "target"
audience of this book series.  Below is another signing at
Barnes and Nobel and the little girl is Hannah.  The picture
truly says it all.
I like to use my "BIG
BOOKS" in the shows I do to
promote the books, like the
one seen here at the release at
Barnes and Noble last year.
The book is an actual 6' by 5'
copy and opens up to about 10
feet wide and seven feet tall
on stage when sitting on a
stand.  It is a great visual
effect and a powerful learning
and reading tool. I use six
instruments in my show.  The
guitar, banjo, harmonica,
mandolin, fiddle, and bass
fiddle are the "foundation"
instruments of American roots
music and I try to encourage
kids to develop an interest in
the sounds each one makes
and when played all together.
At left is the student body at
Parsons Elementary  in
Lubbock, Texas last year.
Kids still love the sound all
these instruments make and
they need to be exposed to
them or we will some day
loose the happiness they bring.
